Hello, hello, hello. I am now mostly recovered from the body clock confusion that is little sleep in Vegas and long intercontinental flights.
The Amazing Meeting 8 was, well, amazing. I met a lot new people I've only known online, saw a lot of people I met last year and had a terrific time seeing all speakers. As I mentioned in my last post, my sister lent me her camera and I took lots of photos, I'm going to upload several of the below. I will, of course do a cut tag, because I don't want to take up huge amount of all of your friendslists.
The first picture is the one I'm happiest about, because not only did I get to have a picture taken with this very amazing, witty old guy, I also had a very cool chat with him and the President of the Singularity Institute about the technology, politics and social impact of the Singularity in the hotel bar.
I would love to describe the whole event, one thing after another but it would be pretty boring for you so I'll post a bunch of pictures I took.

And another big one I'm a huge fan of, Richard Dawkins. And if you need to know who he is, use google. Two pictures this time, the queue for his autograph was very long and he didn't have time to personalise them or pose for photographs, so people passed their cameras to the person behind them.
I'll be posting more pictures and stories about TAM 8 soon but I felt I really needed to post this or I'm afraid ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif?v=92.1) m_mcgregor will send his minions after me. I also realised that I put on weight over there due to large food portions and lots and lots of drink. |

I've called off my minions for the time being, but I may soon need to destroy you out of sheer jealousy.
If you're interested, there's been lots of pictures and videos put up over the last week or so from TAM8, just check youtube or flickr.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go watch the DVD of TAM5 that I bought while there.
